Playing in Mesquite

We just got back from a quick trip to Mesquite, Nevada for the weekend. K.D. and Dad wen't to use up a golf package that we bought at the 4H banquet in the spring. They played Saturday morning at the Palms Golf Course, and at the Casablanca Course Sunday morning. Mom and I got to enjoy a relaxing massage on Saturday after a fun afternoon at the pool with the kids. The masaage was the best part of the trip for the ladies by far. Boy was it hot down there !! Saturday night we drove the gocarts at the Oasis, and Jared is FINALLY tall enough to drive them himself (he thinks he is nascar ready of course). K.D. and Kaylee let him get passed them the first lap so that they could bump him around a little, and they could never catch him the rest of the race. He took to driving race cars like a fish to water, and now we may be in trouble. And of course, we had to take Jared to his favorite place to eat, the buffet for ribs. Will was really good, and really handled the trip well. We all had a great time, and had an action packed weekend filled with fun.

Finally back in our GROOVE

We went up White River four wheeling and shooting Saturday morning. We had lots of fun. Its so beautiful and green up there with tons of trails to ride. You could literally ride for a week straight and not get to cover all of the trails. We went up planning on just spending the day, and then it starting raining like crazy and so we decided to stay over night with Nana and Papa in their trailer. (KD said it would have been better to have had our trailer, but we were glad to have a place to sleep). The kids had tons of fun riding Jared's four wheeler. We saw quite a few deer as we took a late evening ride after the rainstorm. Sunday morning K.D. and Jared and went on a ride with Papa and Nana and the Wilsons over to Avintaquin Canyon. We tried to get close to the 640 acre Jones Homestead that Grandpa Paul's family owns. It was so pleasant and beautiful to ride after the fresh rainfall. KD enjoyed shooting and getting his gun ready for the deer hunt. It was so nice to be back to camping and riding again and enjoying the outdoors. Our summer camping season has finally begun!!

Jared first ride on his four wheeler

Jared had his first trail ride on his four wheeler he got for Christmas. We went down to mesquite over spring break and rode and Jared is an awesome little rider. He rode a long ways until he hit a big rock in the middle of the trail and bent the guard under his four wheeler and could no longer ride it, we had to put his four wheeler in the back of Nana and Papa's Rhino and take it back to the truck. He loved riding it and had a fun day until he hit the rock!!!
