Stock Show time it must be Spring....

A couple of weeks ago Jared got to show a hog at the Utah State Junior Livestock Show in Spanish Fork. He has been a member of mini 4H and showed at the local club shows, but this was his first big stockshow. He was so excited to do it, and he really had a good time the whole week. He was so proud of his blue ribbon that I think he showed it to every person that he came in contact with that day, even strangers. He was such a good helper to so many different people at the show, any many people commented to us at what a good kid we have. We are so proud of Jared and the good example he is to our family. Now we get to travel out to Vernal to the Uintah Basin stockshow the first week of June and do it all over again. Jared is very excited to show a pig again, and we are looking forward to making the trip out to watch him. We owe a big thanks to Dennis Boyer and all his service in helping the kids in the Springville 4H club, he is awesome and does a great job. Well I'm sure the next two weeks will just fly bye, but we will be looking forward to it.

Spring Break inMoab

I can't believe how fast the month of April went by!! I realized I hadn't updated the blog in over a month. We have been so busy, it seems like we never slow down. We went to Moab for spring break to ride the atvs this year and can I say it was incredible! We hadn't ever been down there before, and I think we have found a place to add on to our favorite places to go list. We had so many people with us to make the trip even better. We had my parents, both of my sisters and their families, the Wilsons, the Taylors and their daughter Shauna and her family, Shaunas brother and sister in law and their family, and our great freinds the Noyes family. We stayed at an RV Park and rode right out of camp to some awesome trails. On the first day we went to Gemini Bridges and Bull Canyon, where the views were amazing. I am still wondering why we were walking out on those natural bridges that were 12 feet wide with a 200 foot drop off each side, yikes!! We rode the next two days on the Monitor and Merrimack trail and played in the sand a bit. We rode to both sides of Wipeout hill, but none of us were brave (or stupid) enough to ride down that. We were entertained one afternon for a couple of hours watching the motorcycles and Jeeps try to manuever it. The slickrock makes for some really cool riding. We got a chance to explore through Arches National Park in the truck one evening and the views were spectacular. We had so much fun on the trip that we stayed over an extra day and came home on Monday. Thanks again to Janette and Matt and Ann and Paul for watching Will, they are the greatest! We couldn't have gone and enjoyed the trip like we did without them. Well this was definately our first trip to Moab, but it won't be our last I can assure you. Great riding, and awesome friends and family made our spring break the best!!
