Vegas

This last weekend, which happened to be Valentine's, we decided to head to Vegas. KD had a big order to take to Mesquite, so we decided to make a weekend out of it. Our friends the Copes decided to come along. We had lots of fun, but I found Vegas way to busy for me, there were so many people. The first night we went to Excaliber and let the kids play some games. The next day we went to Bass Pro Shops and the kids thought that was really neat. I think KD enjoyed it more than anyone, he got a free golf lesson. Then we decided to drive out to Hoover Dam, and that was pretty cool. We had an early dinner because it was Valentines, and then went and hung out at our hotel. It was a pretty short trip, but was fun. I can't believe than in less than a week in half we will be back down there for Nascar.

Winter Break in Mesa Arizona

K.D. and I decided we could all use a little mental health break since the kids had a couple of days off of school. Mom and dad are spending the winter down in Mesa and always bragging about the warm weather and sunshine, so we thought we had better head on down to see what it was all about. What a change it was!! After an 11 hour drive Wednesday night, we made it to Mesa at 2am. KD and dad got to golf a couple of times, and of course mom and I hit the outlet malls. The kids got to go swimming in the heated pool a couple of times, and we went to Bass Pro Shops to look around. And then mom introduced us to the Swap Meet. It was crazy, it's like a big collection of booths like you would find at the fair or some boutique. The only difference is, that it was ENORMOUS! We actually went three days in a row(Yes, we are nuts), and I'm not sure we still saw all that they had. I had a great time haggling on purses with an Iranian guy and if you know me, you know my love for purses. Needless to say, I came home with three new ones, and my husband is still shaking his head and cant even understand that. Oh well, it was a real blast. Just the 75 degree days and picking oranges and lemons off of the trees seemed like the perfect medicine for the Utah winter blues. Thanks so much to mom and dad for graciously hosting us and putting up with us, they are awesome! Well, we are home now, back to reality (14 degrees when we pulled into home), and we will have to brave out the next few weeks of winter. In just 6 short weeks, Nascar will be here and we can get down to enjoy the sunshine in Vegas. It is quite honestly one of our favorite trips of the entire year, and we can hardly wait!!

I can't believe that Jared is 10. He is getting so big. I don't know what we would do with out him, he is such a good kid and a great helper. I love him so much and I am so lucky that he knows what is right and stands for what he believes in.

We had such a good time on his birthday we went to Tepanyaki to eat, Jared and Kaylee thought it was awesome. Then we came home Matt, Janette and Daniel came to see Jared. Matt and Janette brought Jared back a shirt from Hawaii and Kaylee a dress. WE gave Jared guitar hero for the wii and he had a blast playing it. I think Matt had lots of fun playing too. I think it was happy birthday for Jared. Daniel spoiled Jared and gave him his old x-box, Jared thought that was way cool.

Tuacahn "Christmas in the Canyon"

Last week we went down to Mesquite with my parents, my sister Tiffany and her family, and our friends from Logan. We had tickets for the Christmas concert at Tuacahn and enjoyed watching Peter Brienholt and Ryan Schupe and the Rubberband. It was pretty cold. but we had a great time and the concert was awesome. We had Will bundled up, and he handled it all pretty well. The rest of the weekend we just relaxed for the most part. The guys went golfing and shooting, and Natalie and I went to St. George to do a little Christmas shopping. And of course, I had to play a few hands of blackjack (Imagine that), but my luck wasn't too good this trip! It was a quick trip, but one that we all enjoyed alot. We store our trailer down in Mesquite for the winter until nascar weekend, so we got that job handled too. Now winter can officially start for us I guess.
